Who we are

This policy describes how TerraShield Exteriors Ltd. dba Terrashield Metals ("Terrashield", "we", "us") handles personal information through this website and our related communications. Our privacy contact is the person responsible for privacy inquiries and complaints at info@terrashield.ca.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• Quote and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number, company, location, project type, measurements, product interests, timeline, message, and files or other details you choose to provide.
• Email and telephone communications, including information needed to respond, prepare a quote, arrange service, or maintain a business relationship.
• Initial warranty or claim details and non-sensitive, reasonably redacted supporting photographs or records you choose to send. If sensitive evidence later becomes necessary, we will coordinate an appropriate submission route.
• Technical and consent information needed to operate and secure the website, including a versioned privacy choice stored in your browser.
• Only after analytics consent, website usage information and campaign identifiers, referrer, and landing page information used for analytics and attribution.

Sensitive warranty records: An initial notice and non-sensitive, reasonably redacted photographs may be sent to the warranty email identified in the applicable document. Do not send government identification, financial, medical, access-credential, or other sensitive records through a general form or ordinary email. If sensitive evidence is genuinely needed, describe it first and wait for an appropriate route and instructions.

How and why we use information

We use information to answer inquiries, prepare and follow up on quotes, communicate by email or telephone, provide products and services, administer any warranty or claim process, maintain records, secure and improve the website, comply with law, and establish or defend legal claims. We use analytics and advertising measurement only when you affirmatively consent.

Website providers and disclosures

We disclose information only as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including to service providers working for us, professional advisers, authorities where required by law, or parties involved in a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

• Formspree: Contact or quote form submissions may be transmitted and processed through Formspree.
• Vercel: The website is hosted and delivered using Vercel, which may process technical request and security information.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads: These services load only after analytics consent. They may process usage, device, and advertising measurement information. Google Ads measurement is used only when configured.
• Google Maps: The contact page automatically loads an embedded workshop map. Loading the map or opening directions sends connection and device information to Google under Google's terms and privacy practices. This map is separate from optional analytics settings.
• Email and telephony: Our communications providers process contact details and message or call information so we can communicate with you.

Some providers may process or store information outside Canada, where it can be subject to the laws and lawful access rules of the relevant country.

We do not sell personal information.

Consent, cookies, and browser storage

Analytics is off by default. The site offers equally available "Accept analytics" and "Necessary only" choices. Necessary local storage records the version and value of your decision. Session storage or local storage may also support essential site operation. Campaign identifiers, referrer, and landing page attribution are captured only after analytics consent.

You may revisit your choice at any time using the Privacy Settings control in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops future optional collection, but does not undo processing that occurred while consent was in effect.

Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary and proportionate to the purpose for which it was collected, including customer service, warranty administration, business records, security, and dispute management. Retention varies by record and context. We may keep information longer where law, tax or accounting rules, a warranty obligation, litigation hold, or another legal requirement applies. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Access, correction, consent, and complaints

British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA) provides rights and protections for personal information. Subject to lawful limits, you may ask to access personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent for future optional processing, or make a privacy complaint. Withdrawal may affect a service where the information is necessary to provide it. We may retain records where permitted or required by law, so not every request can result in deletion.
