40-year and 25-year warranty classes for eligible Terrashield coatings and colours. Your signed certificate defines the material, covered attributes and terms. Timely installation, registration, approval and documented care are required.
Coating adhesion, colour retention and chalk resistance
Terrashield confirms the eligible coating, colour and material in your accepted order. Your signed certificate records each covered attribute, its period and assessment limits. Adhesion, colour and chalk coverage follow their separately stated terms.
TS-WAR-100
Corrosion-perforation coverage has a separate certificate-listed term, including 40 years where expressly granted. Review the certificate for your material.
Warranty requirements
Follow these installation, registration and care requirements to maintain coverage. Failure to meet required conditions may terminate this limited warranty, subject to applicable law.
Complete installation within 4 months after purchase. Register within 30 days after completed installation with invoice, dates, material, dated photos, installer and owner details. Terrashield approval and a signed certificate are required.
Inspect and clean at least annually. Wash at least every 6 months for coastal salt spray or high industrial fallout, and every 4 months for light windborne salt deposits. Use the shortest applicable interval and remove noticeable deposits promptly. A maintenance log and dated before-and-after photos for every event are mandatory.
Use gentle, finish-compatible cleaning methods, clear debris and inspect drainage. Obtain compatibility guidance for the exact finish before applying chemicals or paint. Plan safe access for maintenance.
Submit the transfer form, signed certificate, original purchase proof and complete maintenance log and dated photos within 30 days after the new owner takes possession. Each transfer requires Terrashield's written authorization and preserves only the unexpired term at the original project location.
Current warranty documents
Register your installation, retain your approved signed certificate and keep the required records. Coverage requires Terrashield approval, not just a completed form. Use the care guide alongside the maintenance log.

Written claims
Send written notice of a suspected covered failure to info@terrashield.ca. Use TS-WAR-120 or equivalent written information and keep proof of sending.
Terrashield may reasonably repair or refinish affected material, replace it, or credit or refund its actual invoice value. Labour, removal and reinstallation, access and other excluded costs are not included unless expressly granted in the certificate or required by applicable law. Repair does not restart the term.
Mandatory statutory rights are preserved. Existing accepted orders retain their incorporated warranty edition; this website revision does not retroactively change those rights.
Privacy: redact unrelated details. Do not send government ID, banking or payment-card information, medical records, passwords or unrelated personal documents. Ask for a secure route if sensitive evidence is needed.
Warranty questions
The incorporated terms and signed certificate define your coverage, subject to applicable law.
Terrashield's limited finish warranty covers eligible coating adhesion and certificate-defined colour retention and chalk resistance. Your signed certificate identifies the coating, colour, material and each covered attribute's term, threshold, measurement method and remedy. Adhesion, fade and chalk periods are listed separately. Eligibility depends on the selected material and finish, including woodgrain selections.
Where 40-year colour coverage is granted, colour change must not exceed 5 Hunter delta-E units in years 1-30 and 7 in years 31-40. For 40-year chalk coverage, ratings must remain at least 8 in years 1-30 and 6 in years 31-40. Assessment uses ASTM D2244 for colour and ASTM D4214 for chalking, with the certificate specifying the procedure and reference. The 25-year class has separately certificate-defined attributes, periods and limits. Normal change within the applicable limits is not a covered failure.
Eligible coated steel may receive corrosion-perforation coverage for the separate period listed in its certificate, including 40 years where expressly granted. This covers a hole through the base metal caused by corrosion under the specified conditions, not cosmetic staining or excluded cut-edge and damage-related corrosion. The coating term does not determine the corrosion-perforation term.
Complete installation within 4 months after purchase. Submit registration within 30 days after completed installation with invoice, purchase and installation dates, material details, dated project photos, installer and owner information. Terrashield approval and a signed certificate are required; submission alone is not approval.

Give written notice within 30 days after discovering a suspected covered failure to info@terrashield.ca, with your signed certificate, original purchase proof, installation evidence, maintenance log and dated photos. Obtain written authorization and allow reasonable inspection before nonemergency repairs; necessary safety work may proceed, with evidence preserved where safe.
Yes. Submit the transfer form, original purchase proof, signed certificate and complete maintenance log and dated photos within 30 days after the new owner takes possession. Each transfer requires Terrashield's written authorization. Coverage stays at the original project location for the unexpired period under the original terms.
