Current 26-gauge metal siding stock

Use the gauge for reference. Use millimetres for clarity.

The current identified stock is documented at 0.48 mm base-metal thickness and 0.52 mm total-coated thickness, with project availability confirmed before production.

The useful numbers

Gauge is shorthand. Thickness is the specification.

Gauge conventions can vary between product types and markets. The current Terrashield mill certificate removes that ambiguity by stating both the steel core and the finished coated thickness in millimetres.

Mill certificate scope

A material document answers material questions.

It does not turn a profiled sheet into a tested building assembly. Material traceability and project design remain separate responsibilities.

The current certificate states:

  • ASTM A792-AZ150 material specification
  • 70% PVDF prepainted Galvalume
  • 0.48 mm BMT and 0.52 mm TCT
  • Listed coating and mechanical values

The project team still determines:

  • Panel spans and structural design
  • Subframing and fastening schedule
  • Air, water, thermal, and fire performance
  • Installation details and code compliance

Current quotation paths

Match the documented material to the current profile and coil width.

A gauge alone does not confirm that every finish and profile combination is on the floor. Terrashield checks the applicable coil, finish, width, quantity, and production schedule for each quotation.

Clear quotation language

Put the decimal thickness beside the gauge.

A useful request identifies the required material precisely and still includes the profile, finish, lengths, quantities, trims, location, and schedule that control production.

Example current-stock description

26-gauge prepainted Galvalume steel, 0.48 mm base-metal thickness and 0.52 mm total-coated thickness, with the applicable profile and finish confirmed by quotation.

This describes the current material. It does not replace the project specifications, engineering, approved wall or roof assembly, or installer-confirmed cut list.

26-gauge metal siding questions

Separate the material facts from the assembly claims.

Current stock is documented in millimetres and by certificate. Future lots, heavier materials, and project performance require separate confirmation.

How thick is Terrashield's current 26-gauge metal siding stock?

The current mill certificate lists 0.48 mm base-metal thickness and 0.52 mm total-coated thickness. Those decimal values are more precise than relying on the gauge name alone.

What is the difference between BMT and TCT?

BMT means base-metal thickness before metallic and paint coatings. TCT means total-coated thickness after those layers are included. Terrashield's current documented stock is 0.48 mm BMT and 0.52 mm TCT.

Does 26 gauge describe every future Terrashield coil?

No. It describes the current identified stock documented by the applicable mill certificate. Future lots and special-order material need their own written confirmation before production.

Which current profiles use the documented 26-gauge stock?

Current quotation paths that list 26 gauge are TerraGroove 300, TerraLap 200, TerraCrest 100, and TerraCrest 200, subject to coil width, finish availability, profile compatibility, and the written project quotation.

Does the mill certificate provide a structural span or fire rating?

No. It documents the material values stated on the certificate. It does not establish panel spans, a fastening schedule, a tested wall or roof assembly, a fire rating, installed service life, or a project warranty.

Can 24-gauge or 22-gauge material be requested?

Yes. Listed 24-gauge options can be supplied by project order, and 22-gauge material is available for compatible TerraCrest profiles. These gauges are not represented as current stock. Provide the profile, required decimal BMT, quantity, finish, and schedule so material documentation, production feasibility, and lead time can be confirmed in writing.

Need the current material quoted?

Send the profile, finish, decimal thickness requirement, lengths, quantities, and destination.

Terrashield will confirm the applicable material lot, manufacturing scope, production timing, and pickup or freight terms in writing.
